The star has handed over the full amount of his twenty-five thousand pound honor cash to the MVT, which works to save the UK's small music venues.

He was awarded the prize on October 16 as his third album People Watching was named the outstanding release of the previous year.

He has chosen to donate the funds to the trust, in acknowledgment of the essential function grassroots venues had in his initial steps.

"As an artist couldn't be pursuing my current career if it wasn't for all the shows I did around the region, and elsewhere, when I was starting out," said Sam Fender. "These venues are renowned, but they are facing challenges."

Beginning in 2023, at least 150 of these locations have ceased operations – approximately one-sixth of the whole industry in the UK.

In the last year, top acts including Pulp, the group Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all supported the MVT in its efforts to support the industry, by including a minor surcharge to their ticket prices, which goes to help smaller concert halls.

He also participated, generating in excess of £100,000 on his recent tour to help 38 grassroots venues across England, Scotland, and Wales.

These funds assisted spaces that were confronting potential shutdown due to challenges arising from water damage, fires and personal losses, as well as regulatory hurdles, court cases and noise complaints.

Some locations obtained financial assistance in upgrading amenities and gear that positively impacted artists and concertgoers.

"The notion that funds from shows in major spaces backs the independent spots, where it kicks off for performers like me, is just logical," the star has commented.

The musician is far from the only musician to give his honor winnings to worthy causes.

When they won the trophy in 1996 for their album the album, frontman Jarvis Cocker announced that the act would give their prize money to the organization the charity.

During 2002, artist Ms Dynamite shared her bounty between multiple organizations, including the NSPCC and a Sickle Cell charity.

"I also gave a thousand pounds to Highgate Newtown, to their gymnastics class, because I did gymnastics when I was growing up and they required better apparatus," she told outlets.

Two years ago, the band contributed their prize money to the local youth club that nurtured their band, in addition to other local music groups.

Additionally winners that year the group contributed their award to a charity for MS after a friend was diagnosed the illness.

"Winning was ample," remarked vocalist Heather Small. "The money was the bonus but we didn't need the cherry, because we had the main prize. So our victory impacted another person's life."

In the past week, the Music Venues Trust announced it had saved several local spots in that region, by bringing them into public stewardship.

The Joiners in Southampton and The Croft in the city were acquired under the public acquisition scheme, which is funded by the arts council and music fans who buy "shares" in the buildings.
